Are you a white or a green elephant?

Kings in Siam used to give white elephants to the XYZ that bothered the, The cost of upkeep would typically ruin them thus the term white elephant to signify something that is expensive to keep and of little value.

Is your department a white elephant or a green elephant, one that brings value and is a critical component of the organization?

There are two characteristics that distinguishes green elephants:

1. They deliver good service. They actively manage their services to make sure that every user get what they need and that requests doesn’t fall through the cracks. They are reliable and trustworthy.

2. They are part of the business. Internal service providers often behave like external service providers. They don’t understand the intricacies of the business and have little interest in learning them. Green Elephant son the other hand have a keen understanding of the business and can even influence it with its solution and services.

So which are you? A white elephant that consume resources or a green elephant that brings value? Take the test to find out.
